Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and assist in obtaining their medical history.
- Conduct preliminary hearing tests and screenings as directed by the audiologist.
- Assist in hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and maintenance.
- Provide patient education on hearing conservation and the proper use and care of hearing aids.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and manage patient records and files.
- Handle phone calls and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate audiologist or department.
- Assist with billing, insurance verification, and reimbursement processes.
- Manage inventory of audiology supplies and order replacements as needed.
- Assist audiologists during various audiological evaluations and assessments.
- Perform basic audiometric testing, including pure-tone audiometry and speech audiometry.
- Conduct impedance testing and otoacoustic emissions testing.
- Help with vestibular testing as required.
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data protection at all times.
- Any other work-related task that may come up from special project as directed by managers.
Travel Requirements:
This position involves frequent travel to various healthcare facilities and client locations. The purpose of travel includes conducting on-site assessments, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and providing support in different clinical settings. Should be adaptable to changing schedules, possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage, and be willing to work flexible hours.
